Below is a summary of the latest CyberSKA portal release (v1.0.4) on December 21, 2010. An updated FITS viewer (v0.4.0) and Data Access Interface (v0.6.2) were also released at the same time.

The main new feature to report on is the chat tool. Now you can interactively chat on-line with your contacts that are also logged in to the portal. Instructions on using the chat tool are available on the Chat help page.

CyberSKA Portal v1.0.4

• updated Twitter plugin - works with Twitters new OAuth based authentication scheme

  • fixes to the task plugin - tasks with no assignee are reported as "unknown", deleting a group task keeps the user in the group context

FITS Viewer v0.4.0

• grid drawing routines rewritten - bug fixes, grid clipped to inside of image
• additions to region stats - sum, background removal stats, proper unit formatting
• adjusted region stat calculations - interactive updates provided if they can be computed in less than 0.2 s, otherwise the computation is delayed until after the user releases the mouse button
• added more optimization for c++ frame extraction on the server side

Data Access Interface v0.6.2 (accessible to GALFACTS Consortium/Technical group members only)

• GALFACTS D Field data, and N1 Run data added
• added some minor optimization to data extraction code on server side
• minor bug fixes
